4/4 German violin labelled Albert Gotz, Markneukirchen, 1928
Born in 1874, it didn’t take long for to begin his career as a violin maker. Gotz (sometimes spelled Goetz) is a familiar name from the 20th century of violin making in Markneukirchen. The Gotz atelier produced workshop instruments in huge quantities, ranging in style and quality.
This instrument has a cute two piece back that exemplifies the Gotz workshop, and a deep-brown varnish. The condition is very good and the sound is bright and focussed. It has good projection and would suit the student or intermediate player.
