4/4 Italian Violin Attributed to Giovani Pistucci, Naples c1890
An important Neopolitan maker, Pistucci was quickly recognised as a talented luthier who refined and polished his craftsmanship under the training of Vincenzo Postiglione. Pistucci based much of his work upon the Gagliano model and other reputable makers from Naples. His instruments demonstrate personality, flare and original style.
Thwaites is proud to present this violin which has a two-piece back and is in very good, restored condition. There is a fantastically sweet quality to the sound. The instrument is well-balanced and the response is quick, making this violin very easy to play. This instrument would suit the professional player.
