4/4 Italian Violin, c.1960, Labelled "Stefano Scarampella, di Brescia Premiato con Medaglie d'Argento Fratello ed allievo del Giuseppetece mantova anno 1924", probably from the workshop of Gaetano and Mario Gadda. Gaetano Gadda was the only true pupil of Scarampella, and even after Scarampella's death continued to use his old masters' labels in instruments, a practice that was continued by Gadda's son Mario.
