We have loved seeing the rise of Grammy Award winning artist Gregory Porter over the last few years and are proud to have been asked to supply a lovely double bass for his appearances in the UK.
Last week we had the task of supplying two basses for him. One was for his appearance at the BBC Music Awards which included this electrifying performance of “Feeling Good and Liquid Spirit”
The other bass was for an exclusive performance at Buckingham Palace for supporters of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.
The two instruments in question are our most requested Pro-Hire basses for Jazz and Pop having previously been hired for artists including George Benson, Esperanza Spalding and Robbie Williams.
That list was added to this week following a request from Simon Francis, bass player for international superstar Ellie Goulding. Ellie & Friends were to play a pre-christmas fundraiser for the charity “Streets of London” and Si needed an acoustic bass to use for the show. We were happy to oblige and the event was an amazing night with some special performances by Ellie & the band including this version of Explosions with the amazing Kwabs.
Ellie was joined on the night by some of the UK’s best young artists including Band of Skulls, Bastille, Birdy, Gabrielle Aplin, Jess Glynne, Kodaline, Kwabs, Tom Odell and Years & Years.
