4/4 Italian Violin, Franco Albanelli, Bologna, 1973, Labelled "Albanelli Franco allievo di Gaetano Pollastri Fece in BOLOGNA 1973" and signed on label.

The Albanelli is a very fine violin. Its maker, Franco Albanelli (August 25, 1933 – July 1, 2007), was an Italian luthier, and a pupil of Gaetano Pollastri making in that style. He won a Gold medal for his work, in Bagnacavallo, Italy, in the 1960s. This is a good example of the maker’s work bearing his signed label and in good condition. It has been made with a good choice of materials and a nice red varnish.
