This lovely, grand viola has wonderful projection across its entire range; a warm sophisticated tone, powerful and somehow bright. it is constantly showing the beautiful characteristics of the maker and the typical english instrument. Set up with obligato strings to embellish the already warm tone, is easy to handle and is well responsive. A tidy golden varnish with a neatly flamed two-piece back is a fine example of Pipers careful and precise craftsmanship.
